Food Show Spins Proteins, Beets and, yes, Kombucha
Veterans of the Winter Fancy Food Show will tell you that after about 1½ hours (or 8-10 aisles) of sampling, fatigue sets in. It’s likely because you don’t know whether the meal you’re cobbling together should count as afternoon snack or post-Halloween binge. Within five minutes you might consume grilled halloumi cheese, frozen banana “ice cream,” turmeric peanuts, a folded slice of mortadella and a lime-scented marshmallow.
That may or may not have been my sequence on Day One of this year’s expo.
